Goals

Lots of people are taking lots of photos of the building of Wildcat Park. This is just a set that I happen to have available. Feel free to mail me a ZIP file of additional photos with appropriate information for credits, and I'll use them if they don't duplicate previous pictures.

There are a lot of pictures here, documenting the process of constructing a playground in a week. What you don't see are the countless hours by a number of people to get the situation where the playground construction can even start.

June 1st: It's looking like a playground
June 2nd: It's looking like a playground
June 3rd: Grand Opening

The making of the New Wildcat Park: The Movie

This movie is a large (35 Megabyte) time lapse video of the building of the new Wildcat Park compressed into 5 minutes. You may want to use a right click to save the video on your computer to play it there.

This move has one frame for each minute the camera was running. It's not a particularly high resolution camera, so you won't recognize individuals, though you will see people moving through the frames. Occasionally the pole holding the camera is kicked, so the camera isn't always horizontal. As the sun sets at about 6:00 PM, the camera stares into the sun, which saturates the image. For some reason, in the middle of the day, the last part of the image doesn't make it over the 802.11g link.

All in all, the movie does give a fair representation of the amount of activity it took to construct the park.

Thanks to the school district for allowing me to use one of their cameras, access points, and bandwidth to create this movie.
